Your last post left me with query regarding a dilemma – should women shave or not shave their pubic hair?
Its an excellent question. Lets look at the history. Seemingly shaving of pubic hair has been practiced off and on since the first implements/ointments that could shave/depilate hair were invented. There were many periods were it was standard and at least one of the major world religions requires it of both the male and female (Islam).
In the recent past in the Western World – the state of the bush has closely followed the pornographic industry. In the 1960’s and 1970’s full bushes were a staple in pornography.
From the 1980’s onwards first the bikini line got cleaned up, them the bush got trimmed, and then turned into landing strips and other patterns by the 1990’s and finally by 2000 had become essentially extinct.
In the last 6 years, however, there has been a slight comeback for pubic hair with the rise of the hipster movement, and it has crept back into porn – though not to the level of the 1970’s expect in specialized sites (Suicide Girls for example).
In my personal sex life – I went from shaving my girlfriends myself – at that time considered very kinky – to begging my more recent girlfriends to not shave once and again and grow back their pubic hair.
